Mr Guthrie was a chief chemist for Peru's Utilities since 1932. He died at Dukes Hospital at 5:10 P M Friday following six day's illness.
Mr Guthrie was a graduate of Logansport High School and Purdue University as a chemical engineer. Recently he was presented the State Board of Health 40 year award
Born in Logansport Feb. 10, 1895, he was the son of Mr and Mrs. Frank Guthrie. He was first married to Pearl Myers and following her death married Charlotte Grund in 1924.
Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Mrs Mary Ann Atwell of Jacksonville Fla; two step-children, Mrs Frank Dice and James Grund (Peru City Judge) and a nephew Dr James U Guthrie (Chief of Surgery at Dukes Hospital) one brother Earl is deceased.
