Charlotte Guthrie, Native of Logansport, Succumbs in Peru

PERU - Mrs. Charlotte L. Guthrie, 70, of 551 W. Fifth St., mother of Peru City Judge James A. Grund, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home following and illness of one year.

Born in Logansport on Sept. 17, 1891, she was the daughter of Horace and Lillie Hemmelberger Crismond. Her marriage in 1915 was to Arthur M. Grund and he died in 1921. In 1924 she was married to Asa E. Guthrie and he died in 1961.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian church.

Survivors include one son, James Grund, Peru; one daughter, Mrs. Frank V. Dice, Peru and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Kahle funeral home in Logansport with Rev. Dale Dickey officiating. Burial will be in the family mausoleum at Mt. Hope cemetery in Logansport.

Friends may call at the Kikenberry funeral home in Peru after 7 p.m. Wednesday and at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Kahle funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday.
