She was an intelligent woman with a great sense of humor. She would sing songs in the car with her granddaughters; have pillow fights & water fights with the hose; have Sundaes on the front porch & watch an outdoor movie at the town square on Tuesday nights. One summer she took her four Kundzicz granddaughters to the chicken hatchery and let us each pick out a chick for a pet! Maude was a VERY TALENTED artist and worked in many different media: Oil painting, ceramics, leather work (purses, belts, etc.), copper, crocheting, and knitting. She was a professional seamstress and made many outfits for her grand children.

Estill & Maude moved to Chatham, IL sometime after 1915 and lived there most of their married life. Estill worked for the Alton Railroad. They had a large wonderful house on a huge lot on Main Street. They grew all of their vegetables, had berry & mint bushes, and raised chickens & rabbits for food. Maude was an excellent cook, preferring to cook on her old four burner wood stove than the new, modern electric stove. She canned every year, made the most marvelous homemade berry pies; she made fantastic chicken & noodles and chicken & dumplings!

They eventually retired and moved to New Port Richey, FL to be near her son Chasteen & his wife, Virginia Belle Vorhes.
After Estill died Sep 1989 she moved to Santa Maria, CA to live with her daughter Lena May Stahnke & their family. She died less than a year after the move and her body was shipped back to New Port Richey to be buried with her husband.
