Anna May Eisenbrown, 83, of Cumru Township, died May 31, 2015 at the Highlands at Wyomissing. She was the wife of Charles M. Eisenbrown, with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 7th. Born on December 22, 1931, Anna May was the daughter of the late Edwin H. and Dorothy M. (Ritz) Mengel of Leesport. She graduated from Reading High School in 1949, and was employed by the former Witner's Department Store and Albright College. While working at Albright, she met Skip Eisenbrown, and they married at Epler's Church, Leesport, in 1955. Anna May was devoted to her family and her community. She was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Shillington since 1962, serving on the consistory and various committees over the years. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Governor Mifflin School District at both Cumru and Brecknock buildings, where she loved helping the kindergarten teachers. Anna May also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. While her family was her pride and joy, Anna May always found time for tennis and her passion…reading. She loved her home in the woods with Skip, her dogs, and watching the wildlife from her windows. Those who knew her best will remember her love of family, her constant array of lists, and her endless quest to keep everyone and everything organized. In addition to her beloved husband, Skip, Anna May is survived by her son; her daughter, and her four grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, and two sisters. In addition to her parents, Anna May was predeceased by her brothers, William P. Mengel and Edwin H. Mengel Jr. The family would like to thank the many who were so helpful to Anna May: the wonderful staff at ManorCare in Sinking Spring, the patient and loving staff at the Highlands/Personal Care, who made her new home special with their devotion, and the tenderness shown by the Highlands Skilled Nursing team.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Interment will be in Spies Cemetery, Alsace Township. Donations may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 99 South Waverly Street, Shillington, PA 19607, or to the Wyomissing Library, 9 Reading Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA, 19610. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington is assisting the Eisenbrown family.
