Charles M. "Skip" "Ike" Eisenbrown, 85, of Cumru Township, died January 28, 2016, at the Highlands at Wyomissing. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Anna May (Mengel) Eisenbrown. Born on March 7th, 1930, "Skip" was the son of the late William P. and Louise (Louwerse) Eisenbrown, of Laureldale.

He was a 1947 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1951 graduate of Albright College. While studying at Albright, he met Anna May and they married in 1955 at Epler's Church in Leesport.

Skip began his career at Carpenter Steel in 1952 as a research chemist and retired in 1985 from his position as Vice President of Production. Following his retirement from CarTech, he worked at both Penn Iron Works and Clements Waste Management for several years.

Skip was a USAF veteran and a member of Immanuel U.C.C. in Shillington. A charter member of the Reading-Berks Science Fair, Skip served as Financial Chairman for many years. He was active in local trapshooting circles and twice won the Berks County Championship.

Skip and Anna May spent many wonderful years living in Shillington, where they made lifelong friends. Eventually, they built their house in the woods in Cumru Township and began a new chapter "in the cul-de-sac."

Never one to sit still, life in the woods suited Skip well. He spent hours in his workshop, watching "old dusties," puttering in the yard and enjoying time with his CarTech and trapshooting buddies, who knew him as "Ike." Dogs, guns, ducks and wildlife, time for joking irreverently with friends and family, were most important to Skip.

Skip is survived by his children, Peter C. Eisenbrown (Aimee) of Bernville, Amanda L. Spenser of Lancaster and his four grandchildren: Alexander M. and Zachary W. Spenser, Brycen N. and Alexis M. Eisenbrown. He was predeceased by his brother, Jacob W. Eisenbrown.

The family would like to thank and recognize the loving friends who have been such a tremendous support over the past two years. Skip and Anna May were blessed to have in their lives…the Shillington Bunch, the Weston friends and so many others who have supported us on this journey. The staff in Skilled Nursing at the Highlands went above and beyond their care. Thank you, Highlands, for your endless patience and kindness toward Skip.

All services will be private, to honor Skip's wishes. Burial will be in Spies-Zion Cemetery, Alsace Township.

The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, is assisting the Eisenbrown Family.
