1812 Property list has Evan Crain with 200 acres.

"Evan Crain lived on the farm next above the latter (George Thompson) and was a settler there before any of the foregoing. The road leading from his improvements was called "Crain's path," and was a landmark among the pioneers. He was the father of sons names John, Evan, Henry, Abraham, and Benjamin, and descendants of his family yet remain in the township."
