The father of noted ragtome composer Joseph F. Lamb, James Lamb, who died in his 54th year, was a native of Drogheda, Ireland. He served in the Union Army during the American Civil War, and eventually became a successful contractor. Married to the former Julia Henneberry, also an immigrant from Ireland, he built their home in Montclair, NJ. Four children were born to the couple: James, Katharine, Anastasia, and Joseph. His survivors at the time of his death included his wife and children, two of whom, Katharine and the composer, are also interred in this plot. A bronze G.A.R. medallion commemorates his Civil War service.
