The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. D.H. Reid, a minister. Cora died August 5, 1913 in Harrison Co., WV from typhoid fever. Grant District Man Killed - Aaron Ross Snodgrass met a tragic death near his home on Arches Fork, Grant district, July 4, when he was shot and instantly killed by Homer Barker, another resident of that community. It was disclosed at the inquest held by Justice James E. Young and Prosecuting Attorney W. J. Postlethwait, of this city, that Snodgrass was accused of hitting a small child of Barker's with a stone, inflicting a painful but not serious wound; that Barker made some remark to Snodgrass about hitting a little child; and that later Snodgrass started toward Barker's home with the intention of apologizing; that Barker would not hear his apology and is alleged to have secured his gun and ordered Snodgrass off his premises, telling Snodgrass to stay off or he would kill him; that Snodgrass claimed he was not on Barker's premises at the time, but going toward his home. Snodgrass passed through Barker's premises and while doing so, and when about forty feet away , Barker emptied two barrels of a shot gun into the chest of Snodgrass, killing him instantly. Snodgrass and Barker are both life-long residents of Wetzel county and were regarded as good citizens. Barker gave himself up, and is now confined in the Wetzel county jail awaiting the action of the next grand jury. Funeral services were held from the Snodgrass home in Grant district, Wednesday, July 6, and interment was at the Willey Fork Cemetery. In charge of Funeral Director W. H. Wharton, of New Martinsville. Snodgrass was 39 years, 11 months and 19 days of age, and is survived by his widow and six children.

Both men worked for the South Penn Oil Co., and had been on friendly terms. The funeral was held Wednesday at one o'clock P. M., and interment was made at the Willey cemetery.
