Mrs. Madge Marie Roberts, 92, of Shepherdstown, W. Va., formerly of Gaithersburg, died Sunday, Feb. 17, at her home in Shepherdstown. She was the wife of Dr. J. Leroy Roberts, who died in 1985. Born July 16, 1909, in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ross Aaron and Cora Catherine Cain Snodgrass. Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Gaithersburg. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She liked to sew, crochet and knit, and was a member of the Gaithersburg Homemakers. She is survived by two daughters, Betty I. Albright and husband Jack of Aliquippa, Pa., and Sharon L. Lowrey and husband Sieve of Shepherdstown; three grandchildren, Joyce Hikita of Hawaii, Chris Holmes of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., and Kevin Holmes of Mount Airy; two great- grandchildren, Morgane Holmes of Harpers Ferry, and Matthew Holmes of Mount Airy: and one sister, Mary Hinerman of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Melvin Snodgrass; and two stepsisters, Marjorie Shreve and Moreth Owens. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville. Funeral services will be held there Wednesday at noon. Interment will be in Laytonsville Cemetery, Laytonsville.
