Mrs. Eleanor Smith Mackey "Memaw", age 84, of Bremen, Georgia passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 12, 2015.
Mrs. Mackey was born in Carroll County, Georgia on February 23, 1931, the daughter of the the late Charles Grady Smith and Georgia Irene Slone Smith. She was employed by Southwire Company for over 30 years and at Billy Bob's BBQ in Carrollton for over ten years. After her retirement she resided with her family in Bremen until her death. She enjoyed going to yard sales and visiting the local thrift stores daily. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children and spouse, Brad and Marjorie Holland of Bremen and Bonnie Mackey of Heflin, AL; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandsons; sister-in-law, Joyce Smith of Bowdon and three nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Herman D. Smith and grandson, Perry Shane White.
Funeral service will be Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Kennedy officiating.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Lepard, Zachery Lepard, Brandon Lepard, Trevor White, Brad Holland and Jake Teater.
Interment will be in Carrollton City Cemetery.
Almon Funeral Home of Carrollton has charge of arrangements.
