Ada S. Allen, 94, of Trezevant Manor, died peacefully at home June 14, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her parents, The Rev. E.E. and Ada Stevenson, and a sister, Elizabeth Ann “Ebby” Stevenson. She is survived by her son, John S. (Beverly) Allen; daughter, Laura Edwards, all of Memphis; grandson, John S. (Audrey) Allen, Jr. of Escanaba, MI; and three great grandchildren. Also her sister, Jean (Allein) Beall, of Little Rock; and three nieces, Elizabeth Ann (Ron) Hickman of Memphis, Nina (Edmund) Waters of Little Rock, and Jeanne (Jim) Berna of Conner, WA.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was retired from the University of Memphis and Perkins Restaurant accounting departments.

She loved family and the Arkansas Razorbacks, was a woman of dignity who found great joy in small things, and was fiercely independent despite near complete blindness. She was our champion and our hero.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 18 at 1 p.m. at the Trezevent Manor Chapel, 177 N. Highland St -
