Mrs. Cloe Lowery Elkin

Mrs. Cloe Lowery Elkin, 84, of De Queen, Ark., former resident of French Camp, died Dec 27. 1988, in De Queen Community Hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the French Camp Cemetery.

Mrs. Elkin, widow of Herman Gallop Elkin, was a retired school teacher and a Methodist. She taught several years at French Camp.

She leaves a son, Dave Elkin of De Queen; a sister, Mrs. Joy Schmidt of Bossier City, La.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three nephews, Shelby Elkin, Paul Elkin and W. C. Elkin all of Kosciusko; two nieces, Mrs. Lena Craft of Kosciusko and Mrs. Thomas Davis of West Point.

Memorials may be made to the Hymnal Fund of the First United Methodist Church in De Queen, Ark.

Cloe Lowery Elkin lived much of her life in Jackson, MS, and taught elementary school at Madison, MS, for many years. She was loved by her many students. She and her husband Herman Gallop Elkin had one son, Marion Davis Elkin.
