Samuel Harold Tolan, 72, of 6923 Donmar Court died Thursday (Sept. 27, 1990) at Proctor Community Hospital.

Born July 27, 1918, in Chillicothe to Joseph and Lena Pence Tolan, he married Louise G. Keller June 20, 1939, in Rensselaer, Ind. Later he married Shirley Marie Stanfield Aug. 9, 1947, in Peoria.

He is survived by his wife; his son, Steve; three daughters, Jean Peterson of Manito, Shirley Behymer of Peoria, and Lucinda Alexander of Springfield; and one brother, John of Fort Atkinson, Wis. He was preceded in death by one sister.

He worked for American Standard and later was a clerk for Wilkins Pipe and Supply Co. for 23 years.

He served in the Army in the 147th Cavalry Division during World War II.
