Bio:When Jacob Bickel was born on March 6, 1823, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, his father, Johann, was 27 and his mother, Rosine, was 21. He married Caroline (Karolina) R. Frei (Bickel) on April 30, 1848, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had nine children in 18 years. He died on September 19, 1896, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the age of 73.
