Leola M. Porter, 90, of Holton, KS passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born December 4, 1924 in Mayetta, KS the daughter of Charles H. and Jessie (Snair) McCrory. Leola graduated from Denison High School in 1943. She had lived most of her life in rural Mayetta. Leola worked for Gossip Printery after high school. She was a homemaker until her children were raised. She then worked for Hallmark Cards and Stauffer Publications, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. Leola married Warren C. Porter on December 4, 1946 in Mayetta. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Copeland; a brother, Melvin McCrory and a granddaughter, Brenda Weber. Survivors include 3 daughters, Juanita Decker (Jack) of Westcliffe, CO, Roberta Spencer (David) of Circleville, KS and Nancy Weber of Topeka, KS; 2 sons, David Porter (Lou Ann) of Mayetta, KS and Ernest Porter (Mary) of Holton, KS; a sister, Helen Hug of Holton, KS; sisters-in-law, Clara McCrory of Holton, KS, Mary Belle Keys of Holton, KS and Ruth Lichtenstern of Topeka, KS; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Denison. Burial will follow in the Denison Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the Reformed Presbyterian Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
