Oscar married his first wife, Carrie Lee Eubank, on February 3, 1897 in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri and they had three daughters:
1) Effie Ebert (1898-deceased)
2) Mildred M. Ebert (1900-1997)
3) Ethel Fay Ebert Beck (1901-1958)
Apparently the marriage ended in divorce since both Oscar and Carrie both remarried.

Funeral Services Will Be Helf Today was Retired Farmer
---Oscar C. Ebberts a highly respected retired farmer, died at his home in Hurdland at 11:30 Friday evening. He was 60 years old and had been in failing health for the past six months and had been dangerously ill the past ten days. Death was due to heart trouble.
---Funeral services will be held from the M. E. Church at Hurdland, Sunday at 2 p.m. by Rev. E. A. Isreal. Burial will be in the Brashear cemetery.
---Mr. Ebberts was the son of Nelson and Martha Girton Ebberts. He was born in the State of Ohio, Aug. 17, 1870. He came to Missouri with his parents when 3 years old. They settled on a farm in Adair county, near Kirksville, but lived many years on what is known as the Ebberts farm southeast of Bullion.
---He was united in marriage in the year 1903 to Miss Christiana Derry. To this marriage six children were born, one dying in infancy. The living are Gravel and Virgil Ebberts of Brashear, Clifford and Edna of Hurdland and Sherman of Kirksville and one daughter, Ethel by a former marriage. His wife died April 1, 1920. He was then married on January 28, 1923 to Miss Nora Garrison who survives.
---He leaves one sister, Mrs. Hiram T. Hall of Kirksville. Two brothers, Maple and Willie, preceded him in death.
---Mr. Ebberts owned a farm two miles west of Brashear and lived on it for several years. A few years ago he turned the management of the farm over to his son and moved to Hurdland. He was well and favorably known throughout eastern Adair and western Knox counties.
