Iona (Ione) Herod and a twin sister, Leone (Hubing) were born in Savage MT on September 17, 1912, to parents Mr and Mrs Harry Burton. The parents died when the girls were very young. The Alfred Wrights became their parents. Mrs Wright was Harry Burton's sister. The sisters both attended school in Terry MT. After graduation in 1931, Ione took off for CA and found employment. She met her husband, Irvin Herod while there. Ione also worked in the telephone office in Terry for a number of years.
Mrs Herod, 84, a Seaside homemaker for 54 years, died December 19, 1996 at Carmel Convalescent Hospital. She is survived by two sons, Irvin "Billy" of Seaside and Frank of Marina; a daughter, Kora Sambrano of Monterey; a brother, Bud Burton of NY, her twin sister, Leone Hubing of Terry MT. She was preceded in death by her husband Irvin in 1964 and a brother and wife, Stanley (Dorothy) of NY.
