Cynthia “Cindy” L. Dobbs, age 58, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 5:50 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2015, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral service in her honor will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2015, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938, with Reverend Travis Spencer officiating. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins.
Born September 28, 1956, in Sullivan, IL, Cindy was the daughter of Chester F. and Mary E. (Risley) Ray. She married Earl L. Dobbs on October 21, 2010. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Mary E. Ray of Gays, IL; a step-son, Brian D. Dobbs of Mattoon, IL; seven brothers, Jim Ray of Altamont, IL, David Ray of Indiana, Chuck Ray of Sullivan, IL, Mike Ray and wife Sharon of Mattoon, IL, Ron Ray and wife Sharon of Assumption, IL, Tom Ray and wife Angie of Mattoon, IL, Chris Ray and wife Cheryl of Sullivan, IL; and four sisters, Linda Cloyd and husband Carl of Cooks Mills, IL, Brenda Phelps and husband Bob of Sullivan, IL, Mary Ray of Gays, IL, and Jennifer Ray of Sullivan, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and three brothers.
Cindy had graduated from Sullivan High School. She was employed by Master Brand Cabinets in Arthur, IL. Her free time was spent enjoying her new home, decorating, gardening and working around the house.
