Alf Taylor, Jr. age 83 died June 26, 2015. Mr. Taylor was a native of Rockvale and son of the late Alf Taylor, Sr. and Alta Blanton Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Hudson Taylor; sisters, Bonnie Taylor Ownby and Josephine Taylor Crockett.

Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Alf “Butch” Taylor, III of Murfreesboro, James Edward Taylor and wife Darlene of Big Sandy, Texas; daughter, Pam Thomas and husband Bruce of Dallas, Texas; brother, Walter Taylor and wife Patsy of Murfreesboro; sisters, Jean Taylor Burns of Rockvale, Peggy Taylor McPeak of Murfreesboro, Judy Leah Taylor of Christiana; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Monday at 1:00PM at Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Morgan Davis will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00PM to 7:00PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Taylor was a 1949 graduate of Rockvale High School. He was a life member of Rockvale Masonic Lodge 413 and member of Rutherford County Baseball Hall of Fame. Mr. Taylor was retired from Bellsouth and a veteran of United States Air Force.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of AdamsPlace. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association in memory of Mr. Taylor.
