Alton Crutchfield, 74, a retired maintenance employe of the Mobil Chemical Co., died Monday at Riverside Hospital.
A resident of this area for 22 years. Mr. Crutchfield was born Sept. 24, 1897 in Lithona, Ga. He was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of the St. Elmo Masonic Lodge 70. He was also a veteran of service during World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Barnell of Chicago; brothers, Henry and Isaac, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Wardie of Columbus, Ohio and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Caldwell Chapel AME Church where Mr. Crutchfield was a member. The Rev. Thomas C. McDougal, pastor, will conduct the services.
Visitation at the Leggett Funeral Chapel will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Members of the St. Elmo Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic services.
Burial will be in the Momence Cemetery.
