Son of John R. and Mary Martha Meister of New Ross, Nova Scotia. His brother, Corporal Otis Murrel Merrier MEISTER, also served; he died on 13 May 1916 and was laid to rest in the Maple Copse Cemetery in Belgium.
Private Delbert Meister is commemorated on Page 539 of Canada's First World War Book of Remembrance.
