Georgiana was the oldest of 7 children born to Mary Ellen Elizabeth (Gilmour) and Dr. George Fisher Crawford. She was born at LaHarpe, Illinois where her father had set up a medical practice. In 1852 the lure of free land and a new life set them on the Oregon Trail with a large band of other emigrants. Besides herself and her parents, the family making the trip included her younger brother James and her maternal grandmother Polly Whitley Gilmour. The trip was made without much trouble according to what her mother later wrote. They arrived in Linn County in October, 1852 where her father took a Land Donation Claim.
In 1864 Georgiana married Phillip Pleasant Henderson who was also an Oregon pioneer from Illinois. They had two children: William Johnson and George Crawford. After his death, she married Thomas L. Dugger and they had three children: son Samuel Wesley, daughter Sarah Ellen, and a third daughter stillborn in 1884.
Her second husband was a well-known newspaperman and printer of the day. They lived in various communities as he pursued his career with the newspapers which included owning newspaper companies in Albany, Scio, Lebanon, and Sweet Home. They also had a farm for several years, but Georgiana's health demanded that this lifestyle be abandoned and they moved into Scio where she died of uremia due to kidney failure in 1921. She was survived by her husband, Thomas Dugger; her son William Henderson, her grandson Phillip Ray Henderson; and two great-grandchildren: Glydas and George Henderson.
