Amanda Shelton was the daughter of Lyman Pomeroy, a pioneer of 1847. She was born January 3,1869 on her fathers donation land claim south of Scio. She died December 30, 1936. She was survived by two sons, Rolla and Roy, by brothers Orange, Oscar, Eugene and Grover Pomeroy, by sisters Dora Bilyeu, Minnie Ferrel, Roberta Pomeroy, Lulu Worley, Myrtle Crabtree and Elva Dallam and by four granchildren and one great-granddaughter.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Amanda Shelton, 67, died at her home in Scio Wednesday morning following a lingering cancer ailment of several years.
Funeral services will be held at the Scio Baptist Church Friday, the Rev. V. L. Loucks officiating. Amanda Pomeroy was born January 3, 1869 on her father's donation land claim south of Scio. She was married October 10, 1888 to Enoch C. Shelton who preceded her in death, July, 1935.
Survivors are two sons, Roy and Rolla, both of Scio; six sisters, Mrs. Dora Bilyeu, Lebanon, Mrs. Minnie Ferrel, Hornbrook, California, Mrs. Emma Small, Scio, Mrs. Roberta Miller, Marion, Mrs. Myrtle Crabtree, Arlie Mrs. Lubie Worley, Salem, Mrs. Eva Dallem, Portland; five brothers, Orange Pomeroy, Kimberly, Idaho, Oscar Pomeroy, Lebanon, Eugene Pomeroy, Klamath Falls, Grover Pomeroy, Woodburn; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Shelton spent her entire life in Linn County and was a resident of Scio for 32 years. She was a member of the Scio Baptist Church and was affiliated with historic Providence Baptist Church nine miles south of Scio.
