He was a retired Art Director of Dominion Signs and a member of the Vinton Baptist Church. Mr. Coleman was a life member and past president of the Virginia Water Color Society.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Mitchell Coleman; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey M. and Lisa D. Coleman of Vinton; grandchildren, Mitchell William Coleman, Robert Dingus and Elizabeth Dingus; a sister, Louise C. Whitmer of Vinton.
Graveside funeral services will be at the Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 1998, with the Rev. Dr. William L. Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Virginia Water Color Society Foundation, P.O. Box 403, Roanoke, VA 24003. Arrangements by Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
