"Mrs. Susannah (PETERSON) RODDY, daughter of John and Magdalena (BOYER)PETERSON, and a former resident of Jenner township for several years, died on January 28, at her home near Waterford, Westmoreland county. Mrs. RODDY,
who was aged 80 years and fourteen days, took sick the day following her observance of her eightieth birthday anniversary. The deceased was born in Jenner township on January 14, 1864. Her father was a veteran of the Civil War and was taken prisoner by the Confederates and was confined for a time on the Libby prison where he later died.
Mrs. RODDY was married to Samuel R. RODDY early in life and continued to reside in Jenner township for several years prior to locating in Westmoreland county where she continued to reside until her death. Her husband preceded
her in death on May 10, 1916. Mrs. RODDY was the last surviving member of a family of eight children. She is survived by the following children: Cora, wife of Noah KNUPP; and Cloyd RODDY of Baltimore, MD.; Homer RODDY, at home; and Charles RODDY of Ligonier township, Westmoreland county. Four children preceeded their mother in death, they being: Grace, wife of Jacob RODDY who died October
31, 1931; Ida, wife of Noah KNUPP, who died January 22, 1919; Orange who died January 30, 1920 and Henry who was killed in action in World War One on October 26, 1918. Mrs. RODDY was a sister of Mrs. Lydia CRISSEY, who died in 1917; George PETERSON who died in 1931; Rev. Levi PETERSON
who died in 1930; and Mrs. Mary REAM who died 1933. Two brothers & one sister died in infancy. A number of grandchildren & great-grnadchildren survive.
