Sarah was the d/o Thomas Lucas, Jr. and Anne Hungerford. Sarah Lucas married Nathan Peddycoard in 1738 in Prince Georges Co. MD. Nathan died in 1759 in MD.

Although raised in the Church of England, Sarah converted to Moravian while living in Maryland. In 1774 Sarah with her grown sons and daughter Lucy with Lucy's husband Horatio Hamilton all moved to Wachovia in NC. They were all founding members of the first English speaking Moravian church in Wachovia -- the original Hope Moravian Church which was not where the current Hope Moravian Church is located but was beside the old Hope Moravian Cemetery on Copeland Rd.

Sarah lived to be 75 years, 8 months, less 2 days.
