He immigrated to the United States in 1905. Upon landing in New York, he worked on Wall Street and later opened restaurants in several states including NY, NJ, CT and Michigan. He met and married Hazel Belle Boyce in Stamford, Connecticut. They had one child, Cleo (Kalliope) Kondos in 1918. After his wife's early and tragic death in 1920, he threw himself into his work. He died in 1956 at the age of 67. He left behind his daughter-Cleo, three grandchildren and six siblings.
