ALMA E BAKER: 82; lifetime resident of the Shelton area, died [Wednesday] Feb 26 at Mason General Hosp. The only dau of J Frank & Laura Jane Bennett; she was born 13 Jul 1903 at Oakland near the present site of the Bayshore GolfClub. Since 1914, she lived most of her life at the family home west of Shelton. On 26 Feb 1927, she married CharlesH Baker. Her husband preceded her in death in 1954. Both Mr & Mrs Baker were school bus drivers for the Shelton SchoolDistrict. MrsBaker retired after driving bus for 33 years; she also worked as a cook in the school cafeteria for more than 20 years. She was also preceded in death by 3 bros: Dan Bennett, Dewey Bennett, Vearl Bennett & a grandson Frank Brown.
Survivors include a dau: LauraJ Ogden-Juneau AK; 2 grandsons: Joe & Charles Brown-Alaska; 3 granddaus: Janice Ohide-Bremerton; Barbara Cloin, Beverly Cross-Shelton; 18 gr grandchild-ren; 6 nieces--nephews: Ardice Cunningham-Kent; Earlyne Lathim-Seattle; Elaine Russo-Toole UT; Gordon Bennett; John Bennett-Shelton & Bill Bennett-Arizona.
Service will be held Friday [2-28] at McComb & Batstone Funeral Home. DrTroy Strong will officiate. Burial will follow at Shelton Mem Park.
