BLAKE, Albert Francis, age 83, of New Martinsville, W.Va., died Friday, March 31, 2006 at home.

Albert was born February 12, 1923 in Wetzel County, the son of the late Franklin Webster and Dora Buchner Blake.

He was a retired truck driver for Point Gasoline Company; a Corporal of Battery B, 692nd Field Artillery Battalion of the United States Army; a member of the First Christian Church of New Martinsville; the oldest member of the American Legion Post 28 of New Martinsville, where he was a member of 62 years; a member of the former VFW of New Martinsville; and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Moundsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Melvin and Louis Blake; and two sisters, Agnas Starkey and Dessie Loy.

Surviving are his wife, Faith I. Mack Blake; a daughter, Barbara (Doug) McAdams of New Martinsville; two step sons, Kevin (Patty) Ingold and Steven (Jeanne) Ingold of New Martinsville; two grandsons, Randy (Dorothy) McAdams and Christopher (Rillia) McAdams; two step grandsons, Kevin (Teresa) and Josh Ingold; two step granddaughters, Velisha and Katie Ingold; three great grandsons, Hunter and Tanner McAdams and Daryan Ingold; and three great granddaughters, Remie and Josie McAdams and Jazlyn Ingold.

Friends received 1-9 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Jarvis Funeral Home, 1224 South Bridge Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m Monday, April 3, 2006 with Pastor Bob Brooks of the First Christian Church of New Martinsville officiating.

Interment in the Veteran’s Section of Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.

Full military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 28 of New Martinsville, VFW Post 6327 of Sistersville and American Legion Post 86 of Paden City.
