Ervin Vernon Niemeyer was born August 31, 1937, the son of Kasjen and Augusta Niemeyer in Clara City, Minnesota. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and confirmed there on March 25, 1951.
Erv graduated from the Clara City High School. Following high school Erv served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in November of 1957.
Erv was united in marriage to Marlys Helen Hauer on March 1, 1958, in Dawson, Minnesota. He was an over the road truck driver, traveling across the country until his retirement. Erv enjoyed camping and fishing and playing buck, yahtzee and marbles. He liked to play mechanic in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife Marlys; three children: Patty, Jim and Bill; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brother, August; and sister, Mable.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sue Niemeyer; and one sister, Sofie Bodin.
