Louis Sirek, 62, Cedar Lake Town Chairman, Dies
Louis Sirek, town chairman for the town of Cedar Lake, died suddenly at his home Monday. Mr. Sirek, 62, had been hospitalized a couple of weeks and had returned home only Saturday. Funeral services will be held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Dobie and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Sirek was born Aug 19, 1902 at Angus, MN and moved to the Rice Lake vicinity in 1915. He was married to Lydia Dvorak in 1926 and had farmed in the area for many years. He served on the county board for 15 years until 1963 and after a two year absence, was elected local chairman again this spring. He served as a member of the county highway committee from 1950 to 63. He is survived by his wife and five daughters, Mrs. Regina Haines, Mrs. Zita Willger and Mrs. Cecelia Crotteau , all of Rice Lake, Mrs. Clara Beffa of St. Paul and Mrs. Dick Weisenberger of Armarillo TX;, and one son Louis, Jr., 25 grandchildren and two brothers, Mike and Bill, both of Rice Lake.
