He was born January 31, 1919, in Viola, W.Va., a son of Daniel Jesse and Goldie M. Chedester Toland.
Mr. Toland resided most of his life in Nineveh, where he was a farmer and laborer.
He worked for Morris Township and the state Department of Transportation.
He enjoyed gardening and hunting.
Surviving are a sister, Virginia Thompson of Sycamore; a brother, Ralph Toland of Sycamore; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Samuel, Cecil and Kenneth Toland; and two sisters, Irene Tharp and Hazel Miller.
Friends of Thomas Woodrow Toland of Sycamore R.D.1, who died Wednesday, February 2, 2000, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2000.
Interment will follow in West Union Cemetery.
