Mrs. Roxie Mae Yarbrough, age 90, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Alabama on March 29, 1925, daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Poole and the late Elsie Mae Studdard Poole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Byron M. Yarbrough, and by four sons, Billy Tidwell, Bobby Tidwell, Pete Tidwell, and James Rogers. Mrs. Yarbrough worked for a number of years at Livingston's Meat Packaging and then later retired from Valley View Nursing Home where she worked in the dietary department. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Church of the Living God.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Ann Huether, Lindale, and JoAnn Newberry, Rome; two sons, Terry Tidwell, Key West, FL, and Jackie Rogers, Silver Creek; thirty grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mozelle Huckaby, Rome, and Patty Garrett, Rome; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 1pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Buddy Floyd and the Rev. Ricky Cordova officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 11am until 1pm. At other hours, they will be at each of their respective residences.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday at 12:30pm and include: Jesse Rogers, Anthony Huether, Randy Huether, Ted Newberry, David Huether, Billy Joe Tidwell, and Charlie Tidwell.
