Sportscaster. For over thirty-seven seasons, he was the NFL Buffalo Bills’ play-by-play announcer for 605 games. In 1955, he began his broadcasting career as a replacement on the WBEN radio and television network, calling high school sports. He became the voice of the Buffalo Bills during the team’s inaugural season in 1960 and continued as their main broadcaster until his retirement in 2004. He also called games for the NBA Buffalo Braves (1971-77), plus served as the sports director, weather reporter and a game show host for WIVB-TV. After his retirement, he held an honor seat in the Buffalo Bills’ press box and attended every Buffalo Bills game. He was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasting Pioneers Hall of Fame in 1998, the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame in 2002, received the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award in 2004 and was inducted on the Bills Wall of Fame in 2014. He died of natural causes at age 87.
