Eschol L. Mack, 87, of Route 1, Clinton, died at the Wallace Nursing Home in Terre Haute at 4 p.m. Wednesday after an extended illness. He had been in ill health for a number of years.
Mr. Mack was born on July 21, 1867, in the Helt's Prairie Community, the son of Alonzo L. Mack and Isabel White and lived in this community all of his life. He had been a former merchant in Dana and worked with the family at the Summit Grove Gravel Pit. His wife, Laura, preceded him in death in June 1944.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Higgens of Albuquerque, NM; 2 sons, Leiton of Wilmington, IL; and Harold of Clinton; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and a few nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Helt's Prairie Cemetery.
