Death Claims Anna Beaupre Gorham at Falls Hospital
Anna Gorham, 45, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Henri Beaupre of this city and wife of Posper Gorham, Scobey businessman, passed away at 10:30 p.m. at the Columbus hospital in Great Falls. Her death was due to a complication of diseases, among which was an internal tumor.
Mrs. Gorham was taken ill shortly after the golden wedding of her parents here on the 13th of September, which event she attended and then returned to her home at Sunburst. She was taken to the hospital at Kevin where she improved for a time and then grew worse. Last Friday she was taken to the Columbus hospital where it was hoped an operation could be performed. Her condition was such that this could not be done.
Anna Beaupre Gorham was born at Helena, Sept. 16, 1888. Shortly afterwards she was taken to Great Falls and then came to Choteau in 1893 when her parents established their residence here. She attended the public school here and afterwards the high school, graduating from the latter in 1907. From here she went to Sweetgrass with her parents and worked for some time in the post office there. Later she took up a homestead.
On the 26th of June 1913 she was united in marriage to Prosper Gorham, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Father Hannan at the home of the bride's parents in Sweetgrass. Afterwards they lived in Sunburst where Mr. Gorham was prominent in business and in the old industry.
To this union three children were born and all survive. They are Frances Rose, 19; Patricia B., 17; and Henri "Buddy" B. Other survivors include the husband, who was at the bedside when the end came; Miss Edna Beaupre of this city, and the parents, Dr. and Mrs. H. Beaupre.
Funeral services will be held here Monday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Luke's church. Interment will be made in Choteau cemetery.
