Ozia Harness Bass, age 82, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Bass was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Scott County, Tenn. She had lived in Oliver Springs most of her life.

Mrs. Bass was a homemaker, a loving mother, grand mother and great-grandmother. She was a charter member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Ozia was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Elgin Hayes Bass; by a daughter, Alma Faye Brown; by a son, James Allen Bass; by her parents, Lummie Harness and Flora Lowe Harness; by grandchildren, Remona Stinnett, Michael Bass, and Migual Bass; by brothers, Arie, Elvin, Ervin, Tim, and Marshall Harness; and by two sisters, Ada Patterson and Ella Pickle.

Survivors include her son, Terry Bass of Oliver Springs; daughters, Jawana Stinnett of Oliver Springs, and Margaret Ledbetter and husband the Rev. Glen Ledbetter of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grand children; brother, Emmit Harness of Anderson, Ind.; and sisters, Motlaney Cook of Coco Beach, Fla., and Retha Bass and husband Clyde of Oliver Springs.

The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Sharp Funeral Home between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Daugherty, the Rev. Glen Ledbetter, and the Rev. Gary Stinnett officiating.

Burial and graveside services will follow at the Mineral Springs Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
