David Dyer

OTTUMWA — David Dyer, 58, of 700 W. Alta Vista Ave., died June 24, 2010, at his home.

He was born Feb. 1, 1952, in Creston to Floyd and Dorothy Michael Dyer.

A resident of Ottumwa all of his life, he was a graduate of Ottumwa High School. He had worked for Baird electronics in the 70's, Mid-State Distributing in the 80's and 90's and the Dollar Tree in the mid 2004.

David had attended Willard St. United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Shannon Jensen of Ottumwa; a son, Derek Dyer of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Delaney and Dalton Mondia and Owen Jensen; two sisters, Gloria (Joe) Ives of Ottumwa, Linda (Laurel) Butler of Wisconsin; a brother, Bob (Sara) Dyer of Ottumwa; a special friend, Laurie Leonard of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Keith Dyer, and a sister, Sharon Johnson.

His body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Luers officiating. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
