Betty Belcher, 82, of Warners, died Thursday at home. A lifetime resident of Warners, she was a graduate of Warners High School. Betty was a postal clerk in Warners for 22 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Warners United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Twins & Triplets of CNY. She was a former Campfire leader. Her husband, Fred C. Belcher Sr., died in 1969 and daughter, Nancy Marie Poupore, died in 2000.
Surviving are her daughters, Carol (Gary) Gonyea of Weedsport, Jean (Terry) Shaffer of Marcellus and Terrie (David) Fancher of Enfield, CT; sons, Bruce Belcher of Warners, Jerry (Claudia) Belcher of Memphis and Fred Belcher of Interlaken; sister, Elsie Brunet of Tampa, FL; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warners United Methodist Church. Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
