Orlan J.R. Kelton, 77, of Wayton died Saturday, Jan. 13 (2007) at Wayton. Funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with burial in Wayton Cemetery. The son of the late Edd and Mabel (Ralph) Kelton was born June 10, 1929, at Jamestown. He was the husband of Shelma (Henderson) Kelton.

June 10, 1929 - January 13, 2007


Orlan J.R. Kelton, age 77 of Wayton, AR, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007 at home. The son of Ed and Mable (Ralph) Kelton was born June 10, 1929 in Jamestown, AR. His parents preceded him in death along with a son, Jeffery Kelton; a brother, Earl Kelton; and a sister, Bobby Jo Duckett.


He was a veteran of the Korean War. He had lived in Newton County for many years, and was a farmer.


Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Shelma (Henderson) Kelton of Wayton; three children, Orlan Kelton and Edd Kelton, both of Wayton and Dorothy Adams of Deer; two grandchildren, Anna Duke and Quentin Adams, both of Deer; two sisters, Georgia Hayward of Benton, KY and Lou Ellen Holman of Sturdivant, MO; and many other relatives and friends.


Mr. Kelton's service was Wednesday, January 17 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Dale Holman and Tony Taylor officiating. Burial was in Wayton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bobby Henderson, Johnny Henderson, Donal Sams, Randall Davis, Donnie Davis, and Gary Duckett. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews. Visitation was Tuesday, at the funeral home.
