Mary Margaret Allen Proctor, age 82 of Marion, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of McDowell County, Margaret was born on December 10, 1932 to the late Greely and Lilly Sparks Allen. She retired from Drexel Heritage following over 20 years of service and was a member of Parkers Chapel Baptist Church. Her love and dedication to her family was endless and those she left behind will truly miss “our loving little mother”. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Elaine Proctor and a grandson, Timmy Proctor.
Those left to cherish Margaret’s legacy are her children, Kim Proctor Cable and husband Roger, Bobby Proctor, Charles Proctor and wife Janice, all of Marion and Paul Proctor of Morganton; and a brother Dean Allen of Marion. Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and family friends, J.B. Johnson and Lee Laws also survive.
A funeral service to honor Margaret’s life will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home. Interment will follow in McDowell Memorial Park.
