Earnest Croco Killed
During the storm last evening there was one person killed in Cowley county so far as we have been able to learn. It seems that a regular twister got in its work northwest of this city. Five miles southwest of Winfield, Mrs. Croco and two children were in the barn on the farm when the storm came up. While the storm raged the roof of the barn was torn off and Earnest Croco, aged 12 years, was caught in the wreck. His head was crushed by flying timbers and he was killed instantly. The mother and the other child escaped injury. The storm passed northwest, missing Winfield about two miles. Many barns were destroyed, but no one else was reported hurt. An undertaker went out from Winfield and the body of the lad was buried this afternoon.
