Eunice Bailey, 87, departed this life on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare, The Pines in Easton. She was born on June 22, 1928 in Cambridge to the late Ada Brummell.

Eunice was educated in the Talbot County Public School system. She was a member of the 1945 graduation class from the Robert Russa Moton High School in Easton.

On October 16, 1948, she married the love of her life, the late Levin Bailey. From this beloved union, she became the mother of one son, Edwin, whom she loved and cherished dearly.

Doing church work and other expressions of her Christian gifts were pertinent aspects of Eunice’s life. She joined Scotts United Methodist Church at a very early age. She was quite involved in the spiritual, financial, social, and continual growth of the church. Her love and concern for the Ministry of Music at her church were expressed by being a member of the Young Adult Choir, and also a member of the Senior Choir for as long as her health allowed. Eunice also served as president of the Young at Heart, Chairman of the Membership Committee, Secretary of the United Methodist Women, member of the Adult Bible Study class, and a member of the Book Discussion Group. She was also a dependable kitchen helper for many years. Even during her period of declining health, she was an ardent and staunch financial supporter of her church. She will always be loved and remembered.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by one son, Edwin; two nieces: Debbie and Denise Jennings; and one nephew, Alonzo Jennings, Jr., and a special nephew and niece Donald and Tanula Baker (Lonnie and Tannie). She is also survived by a great nephew, Derek Jennings; a great niece Keko Jennings; 4 great great nieces: Kache’, Vayuda, Tegan, and Phara; two great great nephews: Khasir and Issiah. A very special close friend, Edith Murray, also mourns her passing, along with a life- long friend Barbara Lester Wilson.

In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her late husband Levin Bailey, her sister Freda Brummell Jennings, Dr. J Edwin Fassett, and Spencer Brummell.

Interment in Paradise Cemetery, Trappe.
