62, husband of Debra Hendrix Johnson, left this life on July 27, 2015, to join his heavenly father. Michael was born in Mason City, IA, December 23, 1952 to the late Eugene and Virginia Mae Matson Johnson.
He was a retired Sr. Electrical Engineer with CVR Energy and had also been affiliated with Oxy Chemical. He was a member of Buechel Park Baptist Church and was a Vietnam War Veteran having served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.
Besides his wife of 43 years he leaves to cherish his memory; one daughter, Jennifer Dempsie (Brian); two sons, Cameron Johnson (Stephanie) and Aaron Johnson (Pamela); three sisters, Linda Bowers, Gloria Kibbe, Margaret Doll; two brothers, Joseph and Franklin Johnson; 10 grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren also survive along with many cherished and loved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Gene Johnson and Debbie Pierce.
A service celebrating Michael's life will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd.
