Lula Osborne

OTTUMWA – Lula M. Osborne, 100, formerly of 801 W. Third St., Ottumwa, died at 6:08 p.m. Oct. 8, 1995, at the New Sharon Care Center in New Sharon.

She was born June 21, 1895, in Wellington, Kan., to John Perry and Margaret Hutcheson [sic] Mayfield. She married Oscar Marion Osborne in March 1918. He died Sept. 3, 1957.

She lived in Arkansas City, Kan. most of her life before moving to Ottumwa in 1982. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Arkansas City and attended First Church of the Open Bible in Ottumwa.

She is survived by four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Cook of Seattle.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence and Roy Osborne.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shaul Cemetery, the Rev. John Freeman of First Church of the Open Bible officiating.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. today at the Reece Funeral Home; the family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 a.m.
