Larry Osborne
OTTUMWA - Larry P. "Ozzie" Osborne, 68, of 801 W. Third St. died at 9:40 p.m. April 17, 1990, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Kansas to Oscar and Lulu Mayfield Osborne. He married Grace Hughes on April 18, 1964. She died March 4, 1978. He married Lucille Hughes on May 31, 1986.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, he was employed by John Deere Ottumwa Works for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of First Church of the Open Bible, Walter B. Schafer Post No. 775 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served with the Army in World War II.
He survived by his wife; his mother of Ottumwa; two daughters, Patricia Jones of Ottumwa, and Nancy Moughler of Florence, Ky.; four grandchildren; four step-sons, Richard Wood of Rossville,Kan., David Wood of Mansfield, Texas; Bob Hughes and Dean Davis of Ottumwa; four step-daughters, Thelma Whitten and Sharon Wood of Mission, Kan., Shirley Clawson of Richmond, Mo., and Hope Ferretto of Sparks, Nev.; 17 stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Lee Osborne; and his father.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Open Bible in Ottumwa, the Rev. Thietje Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa.
Military service will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post No. 775 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will be at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
