Albert Bartlett's Funeral Saturday

Albert Bartlett, 83, 201 Central, a resident of Leavenworth for over 50 years, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at his home. Mr. Bartlett had been in failing health for several years.

He was born in Wayland, Mo., Oct. 15, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clay Bartlett. He attended schools in Wayland and was graduated from Kahoka, Mo., high school. He was married to Miss Stella Lechliter on Dec. 23, 1902, in Ethel, Mo. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last December.

The family came to Leavenworth from Ethel in 1912. He was employed by the Kopp Coal and Ice Co. for several years and then worked at the Big 4 laundry until it was closed. He later worked for the Kansas Power and Light Co. in the maintenance department, retiring about 18 years ago.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ethel, but had been attending the Church of the Open Door. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Stella Bartlett of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Bernetta Bietka, 203 Central; two sons, Floyd Bartlett, 908 Chestnut, and Napier Bartlett, Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Nonie Hand, Beggs, Okla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sexton Funeral Chapel. Rev. Howard Jones, pastor of the Church of the Open Door, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
