Milton P. Shimek, age 70, of Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc, formerly of Brillion, died Thursday, April 21, 1994, at Park Lawn Home following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brillion. Rev. William O’Brien will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.

He was born June 7, 1923, in Manitowoc, son of the late Albert and Mary Stradal Shimek. He was married to Edna Vanderhoof on August 30, 1947, in Manitowoc. He served in the United States Army during World War II and then worked at the Brillion Iron Works for 19 years and then at the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry for 23 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brillion.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; one daughter and one-in-law, Mary and Miller Ozment, Brillion; four sons, and three daughters-in-law, Ray and Diane Shimek, Reedsville, Milton and Debbie Shimek, Brillion, Robert and Mary Shimek, Two Rivers, Russell Shimek, Neenah; 12 grandchildren; six step grandchildren; one great granddaughter; 10 step-great grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Thompson, Dorothy and Mike O’Niel, all of Valders, Kathryn and Paul Braun, Manitowoc, Mabel and Harold Bodart, Reedsville, Lester Zipper, Cato; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew and Claire Shimek, Leonminster, Mass., Paul and Darlene Shimek, Whitelaw, Henry and Jeanne Shimek, Reedsville; eight sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lawrence, Marshfield, Esther Guthier, Rhinelander, Grace Bryda, Marshfield, Mabel Rodscak, Rockford, Ill., Hazel Manthe, Spencer, Blanche Lawrence, Chicago, Viola Walti, Rhinelander, Jean and Randy Miller, Waukegan, Ill.; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Archie and Nila Vanderhoof, Arpin, Wis., Charles and Ruth Vanderhoof, Colby, Earl Vanderhoof, Franksville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara, a son Richard, a sister, Sylvia and an infant brother.
