Albert Amendola, age 98, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Albert was preceded in death by his wife: Orleen Amendola; parents: Dominic and Josephine Amendola; sister: Carolyn Amendola; and brother: Bino Amendola. Albert was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #289 of Merrillville since 1979, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1563 and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus #1347. He was retired from U.S. Steel with over 46 years of service and was an avid hobbyist and loved to bowl and golf. Albert was loved by many as a father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. Entombment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
