Mrs. James McNeely
Alice Heacock, wife of James McNeely, died at the family residence at 8 o'clock last Monday evening. She had been ill for the past several months but had only been confined to her bed for about two weeks. A complication of diseases was the cause of death.
The funeral services were conducted at 10:30 o'clock last Thursday morning at the General Baptist church in Winslow, with the Rev. Ottis HJohnson the officiating minister and interment, which was in charge of Harris & Sons, was at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. McNeely was the daughter of Albert and Susan Shawhan Heacock and was born 70 years ago in the neighborhood of Winslow where all her life was spent. Early in life she was married to James McNeely who survives, together with one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Skinner Drake of Winslow, and grandson James Skinner of Indianapolis. Mrs. McNeely was a member of the General Baptist Church of Winslow and of the order of the Eastern Star. As long as she retained her health she was prominent in church, large and social work about Winslow, and her passing is the cause of widespread mourning in those circles where she was known.
